A few days ago I stumbled upon a quote by Benjamin Franklin that I forgot long ago: "Our critics are our friends. They show us our faults." Since that time I haven't stopped thinking about it.And yeah I know old Ben was a great man,a true genius, one of the few intellectuals, blah blah blah and other crap like that. All of this points to the fact that Mr.Franky was clearly not in his right mind when he said this.Or maybe he was in his right mind,he just wanted to mess with the future generations!Or most probably,he did not have a clue how the future would turn out to be,which means he probably wasn't such a brainiac after all.But then again these are my opinions!
Okay now before you decide to go all nuclear on me,at least give me a chance to explain.First of all,I am going to make a common analogy here.I am talking about media here, and I don't think anybody denies the fact that they are a breed of extremely negative, intensely greedy, highly stupid and super cruel critics. So when I say the word critic,I mean the media. There might be some of you who won't agree, but in this age, critic is synonymous with reporter and media.Surprising how definitions evolve through time, isn't it?
Now why am I saying all these bad things about our precious media which keeps us enlightened by exposing all the negative impacts the present government is responsible for and showing us all the bad things that happen in our respective nations and around the globe? They are such nice people, always working for our welfare, and always working towards uncovering the truth!Well that is precisely the reason why. They always take a bad story about anything and distort it to the extent that, next to it,the Minotaur look like Cinderella. Now,I can go on and on and give you thousands of reasons to hate these people but since I have been getting requests for smaller posts I will just quote one example here : Last week,in my town,a middle-aged couple was killed in an explosion which consumed their house.Their only teenage son was out playing with his friends at that time.By the time he reached home, the press was already there, and they sniffed him out like a blood-hound and immediately cornered him before the authorites. He found out the news of his parent's demise from these so-called reporters, who were asking him tactless(for lack of a better word, believe you me!)questions like,"Were your parents terrorists? Were they experimenting with bombs in the house?",or the totally insensitive and blunt "You know you might be the prime suspect since you are the one who is getting all the insurance money!"(only to find out later that it was a gas explosion),or my personal favorite (sarcasm intended),"Your parents were killed in a possible bomb blast. How do you feel?".Sure, that is a question we all are extremely happy to answer (Again, sarcasm intended).I don't know about you guys, but I think these guys deserve a place in the deepest pits of Tartarus! They call it the quest for truth,I believe it is idiotic, stupid, insensitive, barbaric and most of all inhumane.
Investigative Reporter?Oh pul-leez you are just a retarded person with an insatiable curiosity who had no idea what to do with their life and didn't know what the future held for them.So you picked up a pen and let your wild and mentally challenged imagination flow through it's tip and onto a piece of paper, giving no regard to the number of lives that would be destroyed (Maybe being a retard saves you from conviction). You call it enlightening the world,I say you suffer from DAD (Dumb-ass Disorder)!
Think you know what is life?Think again. You will be surprised by the magnitude of change second thoughts can bring about...

The Vicious Circle of Life
It ached a lot.It hurt like hell.It was astonishingly agonizing,a feeling unlike any other that I had ever felt. The stitch in my chest seemed like a knife stabbing through every time I took a breath. It was as if someone had punched a fist through my
mid-section,grabbing hold of my insides,of the organs present, tearing apart my lungs and breaking my ribs with their merciless claws so that breathing became even more difficult. It seemed as if some part of my being was being torn away from me,miraculously leaving me alive, and was being ripped to shreds, and I was left there to bleed...Bleeding,bleeding,bleeding....Horrific,inhumane,barbaric!Or was it?
I stood at my window, watching the endless steady patter of raindrops on the glass. My walkman was playing Going Under by Evanescence.I listened to the lyrics,wondering...wondering all the while.Screaming, deceiving and bleeding for you -And you still won't hear me...That is exactly how I felt at that moment, realizing only just how cruel the world was.Where was the justice in this place, which had been torn into minute pieces by rifts and disputes of varying magnitudes? How did it allow matters to escalate out of control so fast, turning the tables in the blink of an eye?Why could not the plague be stopped in the beginning so that this massive Domino Effect that seems to continue forever would be easier to stop?So many questions, but life remains silent. It's not fair!
How long will I have to exist like this?Live this empty, hollow life?Life...There are so many questions I have for you.But every time I get close to an answer, the question changes. How long will we play this game? How much longer are you going to play with our weak, vulnerable outer covering and our dynamically changing inner-selves?Every single time the question changes,I myself change.Or maybe it's the other way around? There is no way to say for sure.I'm not today who I was yesterday, and I feel tomorrow I shall not be who I am today. It's life's natural defense, how we still have no answer for what it is.Never let anyone unravel your mysteries.I feel like a lump of clay, which people feel free to mold and shape as they desire so that my appearance matches what they wish to see in me.The truth is,we all let life control us like that...It provides us with such a vulnerable shell, giving us the illusion of protection while all along it possesses the power to turn everything around you upside-down.So long. But not anymore!
I blamed people for lacking motive and the proper incentive required to do what they should.I blamed them for being totally devoid of the passion necessary to bring about changes.I blamed them for letting the fire in their hearts die out,or for not having that fire in the first place.Look at them, the cogs of a wheel in a gigantic machine, content on being nothing more, even if it is meant to bring about their own justice. They do care, but not enough to be anything more than who and what they are. They all just wait for some miracle to happen, waiting for a savior who will deliver them. How pathetic!
But soon I realized, while on my relentless journey to find the answer to my questions that this was life.Almost all the people were like cogs,a subordinate member which performs necessary but usually minor or routine functions. This was how they were supposed to be.Waiting,waiting,waiting...Waiting for their savior.Waiting for their deliverance.Waiting for a revolution.I now realize that they are just playing their part. They are not to blame. They are doing what they were meant to do : Wait.
For now I understand, thanks to this life, that revolution always starts with one man.Rest of the people remain what they were :cogs of a wheel in a gigantic machine! They will keep on turning as they always have. They will just be under a different engine this time.
It's time for the engine to be replaced...Because this is the Circle Of Life...

Technically, you should have died at 6 o'clock in the morning!
A few days ago,my status update on Facebook went something like this : "After reading the last entry Breaking Dawn in The Twilight Saga,I remain eternally grateful to and in debt of Stephanie Meyer.Thank you so much, you have opened my eyes.Never again in my life will I prefer such a moronic and idiotic activity over aimless time-killing acts of epic boredom!".And my dear friends,I stand by my words.Reading the entire saga was one of the stupidest things I have ever done.(And believe you me,I have done some really stupid things)Why,you ask?Well buckle up then,'cause this is going to be a long ride...
When I started my blog,I promised myself not to discuss any topic which would be offensive to certain people. But Twilight made me change my mind!I am sorry people but I have to do this! When I first heard about Twilight,it didn't sound so bad.(Of course,it was after the movie came out). Some cool vampire mojo,it seemed like it at the time and the movie was fast gaining popularity,I think second best in 2008 (Of course, after the legendary Dark Knight).I didn't get around to read the novel until the summer of this year (I was really wise until now) and have regretted wasting those precious few hours when I could have read a book that was fun and interesting. Most of my feelings, are reflected in the following video(I'm sure my female friends will kill me for this):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4uuGvmAxTI&feature=player_embedded
After I read the novel,I couldn't help but wonder again and again and again why the hell was a book full of so many clichés and horrible plots so famous? After a little pondering,I clicked right on the answer : The writer (well not much of a writer,if you consider how crappy her writing skills are) managed to manipulate the single greatest weakness of human-kind (to be specific,of females. And that is clever,no matter how pathetic her writing skills are) : Their hormones.Yes.There you go.I said it,and don't you deny it 'cause I know you believe it to be true.I mean,if you look at the novel from a neutral perspective, there is nothing there of interest, absolutely nothing. It lacks depth of character, (Except for Edward's,hence the manipulation)a proper storyline,a real plot and originality. In short,it lacks everything that should be present in a successful novel. So the writer took one thing she could accurately describe : Being a normal high school girl (Since she most probably went through the same time herself). And she made Edward Cullen something that every normal high school girl dreams of having : The perfect man, with the perfect face, the perfect body, the smooth pecs, perfect smile blah blah blah. The list goes on,and if you have read the novel, you will immediately know what I mean.
Look once again at the plot : It starts of with all the typical clichés but gets better as the saga progresses.Let's see what we have so far:
1)The new clumsy average girl moves into town and has a lot of problems. But the hottest guy in school, who never looks at anyone else falls hopelessly in love with her for reasons not well explained at all!Girl returns the feelings with equal passion.(Wow,umm, nobody saw that coming)
2)Even though he is a vampire, the girl loves him!And since he is a good vampire he controls himself. To top it all off,Bella's blood appeals more to Edward than anyone else's in the whole world!(The thing is screaming "Original!")
3)He leaves her because he thinks he is a danger for her. (How noble!!!Awww...)
4)She falls in love with another supernatural being. Both love her very much and hate each other a lot! (Okay, this is just plain creepy!)
5)And the typical hero stereotype, anything is possible by the hero,he/she has a burst of emotion and manages to power through, blah blah blah...(Of course, you have to include this point if you want your story to be crappy and non-orginal)
It was actually at this point I really realized how stupid the details of the novel were.I mean, can you imagine lion in love with it's prey? No,that is simply not how we work. Some new elements about vampires were interesting, but the writing was extremely horrible with long monotonous dialogs and unnecessarily frequent details of Edward's perfection. She thus created the perfect character for your average girl to relate to.Also, the novel get's so much boring at times that you simply want to smack yourself on the head for reading it.(Like when Edward leaves in New Moon, and Bella going crazy,or when Edward and Bella are married as vampires and we have to read about how they were enjoying and the fact that Jacob turns to their daughter, well that wasn't boring. That was just plain freaky, creepy and gross) I was stupid, because after reading the first book I went on to read the others as well.I suppose that was partly because I did not want to leave it unfinished and partly because I wanted to have a complete overview of what all the hype really was about before I said anything about it.
If you don't believe me,I can prove to you that several other people possess similar opinions.I found the following piece on Wikipedia :
While comparing Meyer to J. K. Rowling, Stephen King stated, "the real difference [between J. K. Rowling and Meyer] is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer, and Stephenie Meyer can't write worth a darn. She's not very good."King described the Twilight series saying that "people are attracted by the stories, by the pace and in the case of Stephenie Meyer, it's very clear that she's writing to a whole generation of girls and opening up kind of a safe joining of love and sex in those books. It's exciting and it's thrilling and it's not particularly threatening because it's not overtly sexual."
See,I'm not the only one who thinks she can't write worth a darn!
Before this,I used to think that girls were usually much more better than concealing their feelings than boys were. You know, those who know how to use boys to their advantage just because they are stupid and would do anything for them. But,Stephanie Meyer showed the world that you just have to have a promising package to get normal (emphasis on normal,my dear friends) girls to drool all over it : Edward Cullen.
The thing is,I don't despise The Twilight Saga as a lot of other people seem to.It's fine if you want to pass your time when you have nothing else to do.And I meant no disrespect to people who think it's a good piece of work.We are all entitled to our own opinions, are we not?I just get frustrated sometimes when people compare it to Harry Potter (which is a true work of art and ingenuity) and say that Twilight is better. It is actually the most overrated form of entertainment ever in my opinion, and I will come back with more stuff on the novels and movies later!
Lastly,I would say this for the saga : From Twilight to New Moon through Eclipse and till Breaking Dawn, your luck lasted you much longer than you were supposed to.Technically, you should have died at around 6 o'clock in the morning!

The Noob's Playground
Hi guys, this is my first blog in a long....well actually this is my first blog and I am a total noob (It means a person who is inexperienced in a particular field) at it,since I just started.I will be posting regularly, relating to both serious and funny subject matters.I want you to comment, and please do not hesitate to point out any mistakes or flaws whatsoever. As we are done with the introduction, here we go...
I have been thinking about blogging since a very long time, but honestly never found time for it (which is pretty stupid, since I waste time more than I utilize it.I guess I classify time-killing acts of epic boredom as a 'To-Do' thing). It all started when I saw an episode of the hit comedy TV-Show "How I met your Mother",where the character of Barney Stinson (played by Neal Patrick Harris) was posting his blog on the internet, finishing with his punch line "I'm Barney, and I am awesome!" or something of that sort.It got me thinking that we do so many things in life and forget about them.So many important memories just slip away. Then I realized that I should have some sort of system, you know so that I can hold on to the precious moments of my life that I would later cherish.By the way,did you guys know that Neal Patrick Harris was gay???And look at Barney Stinson, always the ladies-man!!!Shows you what a great actor NPH is.He is portraying a character which is exactly the opposite of his real self!!! I told that to a friend of mine, and he was very upset, because Barney was like his role-model and to find that the person who portrayed that was just acting...Isn't it kind of silly,we sometimes get so caught up in this imaginary characters that we start considering them real, and when reality contradicts,we feel so.....dejected,I guess.Still,I think Neal Patrick Harris is one of the best actors I have ever seen!
So far, blogging seems real nice.I mean, blogs are awesome! You can literally do anything!!You can post your thoughts, your feelings, your opinions, your political views, you can post anything you feel like writing at the moment!!!I don't know why I didn't come to this stuff before!Maybe,it's because I am a college student and life gets pretty busy for me.Just recently,a friend of mine started his,so I thought why shouldn't I start as well?Well now I am on vacations, and I hope to do this thing all summers and if luck is on my side, continue after my college re-opens!Even if I am unable to then,I still have two months of vacations!(I have already spent one)
This past month was a really memorable month for me.I returned home from college after almost an year and met all my old high school friends, and it was thrilling to see them. They reminded me of the Golden times, when we were young(I mean I am still young, but I can't find a better word to refer to the past) and stupid and daring, doing all kinds of crazy stuff that no one would ever dream of doing (At least no grown-ups,they are just boring).Like this one time,we picked up the smallest person amongst us and flung him into a dumpster, just for the fun of it(Thank God,I wasn't small)! We all got a huge crack out of it(Except for the kid in the dumpster,of course). And another time,we all tried to jump from a 25 feet high wall, just to see who would land on their feet, and who on their butts(most probably the fat ones). That wasn't funny,it was plain dumb, but still we enjoyed it at that time.
It hasn't exactly been a smooth ride for me,though. One of the reasons I was so eager to get out of college was to meet my best friend and childhood buddy, whom I hadn't seen in almost an year.I missed him very much.He was your everyday typical teenager, except for the fact that he was very funny and witty, and usually he got his way with his words. But like every other teenager,he was every bit as stupid, and it frequently landed him in a heap of trouble and ultimately cost him a lot.
He always used to get off easy for the stupid stuff he did, just because he was underage.I was usually sitting at my home, playing some game online when my phone used to ring and I would run to pick it up.Then after the usual greetings he would tell me he was in detention, and he got one call. When I asked him what happened (always dreading the answer) he would tell me a really weird story, always ending with "Apparently, you are not supposed to give death threats to Mr.Jefferson over the phone (He was our Chemistry teacher)" or "Apparently, you are not supposed to raise fake alarms at the police department for possible terrorists and bombs".Poor Mr.Thomson had a hard time, facing the police inquiry. Then he would tell me he loved me and to tell his parents to get him out.
But those were just stupid teenage pranks. One day,he went further. While I was gone to college,he got himself into real problems, like drugs. He was always out of money, but he never told me he was on drugs. How was I to know what he was doing?Sometime after I went to college, all communication with him dropped out.He didn't answer my calls, nor my mails and he wasn't on Facebook either.I tried for a very long time. Then, after two and a half months,he calls me from an unknown number. He was okay,he just got arrested and sentenced to six months in prison.Six freaking months? And he was so casual about it!He had already served two and half, which was the reason for his communicational absence. When I asked what happened,(This time, dreading the answer more than ever)he replied in the same comical tone,"Apparently, you are not supposed to steal Car batteries so that you can sell them and use the money for drugs".Poor fellow,I feel for him so much and I miss him sorely.I just wish this last month will pass quickly!Well now people should know that drugs are lethal for your health and your well-beings.Please,always stay away from them!
That's how unpredictable life is.One moment you are all set, having the time of your life, thinking nothing could go wrong, and at the next moment the tables are turned. We become so overconfident that we consider life soft,malleable,easy-going.We consider it a 'noob' and manage to delude ourselves that we are in control. We usually don't realize that life is cruel, that we have to work hard to save ourselves from its cruelty...
It's usually too late, before it dawns upon us that we are actually,in 'The Noob's Playground'.Oh the irony...
